Jin10 data reported on August 8th that analysts at Bernstein wrote in a research report that Swiss watch manufacturers may implement another round of price increases to mitigate the impact of President Trump's tariffs. Switzerland imposes a 39% tariff on imports to the U.S., up from the initially set 31%. Bernstein cited data from the Digital Luxury Group in Geneva, stating that about one-fifth of Swiss watch brands' sales come from the U.S. Analysts say this move will trigger more price rises, but demand for Swiss luxury watches in the U.S. remains strong. Bernstein believes that Swatch will be the company most affected by the tariffs due to its significant exposure in the U.S. market. They noted that Richemont seems to be less affected, but attention should be paid to Cartier.
