Sweden strengthens its crackdown on criminal proceeds from Crypto Assets, having confiscated $8.36 million in assets.
[Coin World] Coin World reported on July 5 that the Swedish Police, the Swedish Tax Agency, the Swedish Enforcement Authority, and three other agencies are intensifying efforts to trace criminal proceeds existing in the form of Crypto Assets, real estate, and other assets in the corporate environment. Swedish Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer stated: "We want them to enhance cooperation and focus particularly on assets that can generate huge profits." The Justice Minister pointed out that since the new law took effect last autumn, Sweden may have the strictest confiscation laws in Europe. To date, under this law, criminal proceeds valued at 80 million Swedish Krona (approximately 8.36 million USD) have been confiscated.
